From Corporate America to Entrepreneur. Chad is without a doubt our visionary, and that is for a reason. As his sister, I can honestly say you would be hard pressed to find a more sincere, positive, optimistic, “we can do this” kind of guy. It doesn’t matter the challenge he’s facing, he will find a way. He’s our David. He has no fear. He has faith. It doesn’t matter that he had no experience in the real estate arena when he had this dream for our family. He found a way. He made it happen. And here we are. Helping people solve their real estate problem and continually making life better for others.
Chad makes people feel at home. How do I know this? Not because I’m his sister, but because our clients, associates, partners, and peers, tell me this about him every day. And I know when you meet him, you will tell me the very same thing.
In case you’re curious, this is what else I can tell you about my cherished big brother, Chad. Prior to this venture, he has worked for two Fortune 500 companies, Capital One, and most recently Home Depot for 7 years as an HR leader. He has spent years dedicated to fostering relationships at all levels of corporate organizations.
Want me to bore you with all the details? Ok, his top strengths include his ability to quickly establish high-trust relationships, assess business landscape, identify key talent, and find opportunities to improve business results through people. The fact is, he progressed from store level to regional management responsible for $1 billion sales plan in more than 30 stores across 4 states in just over 2 years.
Blah Blah Blah. What do you need to know about Chad, really? Why was Chad able to translate his success in Human Resources to immediate success in Real Estate? Because that is his God given gift. Working with people, building trust, and solving their problems.
Chad is our leader and our visionary, as he should be. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Everything needs a plan. I’m the type of person who lives in the moment. If you’ve ever run a business, you know that’s not exactly the most efficient way to get things done. I’m so grateful that we have Carie to keep me in check. Whether it’s marketing, a sales pitch, or a renovation project, everything needs a plan.
That’s where the “Walking Blueprint” comes in. We never have to worry about our money being wasted due to lack of planning, lack of pushing, or lack of accountability on our projects. Carie has it under control. Even when it comes to my end of the business, Carie needs to know how things are going. “What’s going on with this deal? Have you heard back from that nice lady?” Her questions help us all stay on track. I don’t know what we would do without our Walking Blueprint.
Gifted in design. Have you ever walked into a house and just had to stop to catch your breath? If not, you need to see Carie’s work. A CQRID Certified Interior Designer with an MBA, Carie helped build one of the most successful boutique design firms in Florida. Her gift is hard to articulate. How do you compliment an artist when you can’t understand what they do? What I can tell you is that her work is elegant, simple, warm. People tell us all the time how lucky we are to have an interior designer actually managing our renovations – like I didn’t know that.
You won’t outwork her. My sister is one of the hardest working people you will ever meet. I don’t think she sleeps. I get emails from her at 3AM. By 5:30AM, she’s tired of waiting on me to respond, so the text messages start. Even as kids, Carie had more energy than everyone around her. How does that play out today? It’s all I can do to keep Carie focused on managing rehabs, as opposed to doing them herself. She would be happier helping the painter paint the house than negotiating with the painter. It’s not that she’s afraid to negotiate, she’s fantastic at it. It’s just that she loves to work. Loves it. Ask anyone who has ever worked with her and they’ll tell you, she wears you out.
Carie is our heart. Carie often calls me “the face” of our business. I guess that’s true. I spend my time talking to our clients, meeting new contacts, building relationships with new partners, and so on. But if I’m the face, Carie is absolutely the heart of our business. At its most basic level, our business is about improving lives and improving houses. Whether we are buying a house to fix up ourselves, or buying a house to pass along to another investor, for the most part the goal is to get that house fixed up for the next homeowner. That’s our value proposition to a community. We actually create value in our work. Where there was ugly, now there is gorgeous. Where there was rundown, now there is upgraded. And believe me when I tell you, Carie embodies that. That’s what I mean by “our heart.” The value we bring to a new homeowner, the value we bring to a neighborhood, is Carie.
Carie is the heart of our business. But before all of that, she’s my sister.
